Ergonomic equipment used to be regarded as exclusively for people with quite special needs. However, a new generation of over-enthusiastic computer users have are discovering that ergonomics are important for everyone. Incorrect posture and inadequate support can cause upper limb discomfort and the repetitive movements of keyboard work can cause injury. If you use the keyboard often perhaps you should invest in dynamic wrist and/or arm supports. Keyboard guards and expanded keyboards are also useful if you find it difficult controlling your movements.

Make it large

Take advantage of the fashion for 'big' executive accessories with big buttons. Large buttons with large numbers are easier to read and to use. Large button calculators, telephones, remote controls and computer keyboards are available.

Battery-lighted magnifiers are available for reading. A simple round pocket magnifier is useful, but there are also magnifiers for televisions and computer screens. Invest some time in your travel planning. Time put in before the trip will save unnecessarily long car journeys (and probably a few arguments!). Streetmap.com provides a complete set of streetmaps on the Internet. YahooMaps will provide door-to-door driving instructions via the shortest route for trips up to 300 miles.

These battery-run systems fit around the neck and have a tiny, quiet, motor-driven fan and aluminium cooling plates that will cool your entire body once filled with water.
